The Perfect Wild Coast Wedding Venue

Morgan Bay is a place for the incurable romantic and is fast becoming a favourite beach wedding venue in the Eastern Cape. The mile-long beach, ocean and majestic cliffs create a breathtaking backdrop to the most romantic of wedding ceremonies. 

Our air conditioned venue, with beautiful parquet floors and elegant down lights, can easily be transformed into your dream wedding reception. We can comfortably accommodate 120 of your guests and offer you a fully catered service, including all meals and drinks. The Venue leads out onto a private courtyard to one side and then flows towards the ocean, where lawned areas split over two levels and sink to just two metres above the beach.

Please note that we are unable to cater for weddings over the festive season and Easter holidays.

Wedding ceremony

We offer three stunning options for your ceremony depending on the style you ultimately prefer. You are welcome to set up on the grassy terraces in front of The Venue, where you will have a sea view with waves rolling in and out as you say your vows – Chairs will need to be hired for your own account.

It is also possible to set up on the beach in front of the hotel, however this is dependent on tide and wave height.

Alternatively, St Peter’s is a quaint church situated in Kei Mouth, 15 km’s from Morgan Bay and accessible by tar road. The church seats up to 100 guests.

Wedding Reception

The Venue, decorated in a neutral palette, works with almost any colour scheme and or theme. In the evening, over 250 starlight’s are lit creating a magnificent starry night effect. We suggest you think carefully about using too many candles as the venue can get a bit stuffy.

We offer:

  • 12 x 10 seater circular tables or
  • 20 x 6 seater rectangular tables – Used separately or in banqueting style
  • 120 upholstered, round backed conference chairs with white stretch covers

Food & beverage

Our kitchen prides itself in serving some of the best fare along the Wild Coast. We serve an elegant plated meal and can cater for your personal requirements. All allergies are best catered for where possible, however we need to be informed of these in advance. Included in all the menu categories is a separate table where guests can help themselves to Tea (Five Roses & Rooibos), organic filter coffee, chocolate chuckles and butter shortbread biscuits. Allergies are catered for where possible, but we need to be informed of these in advance.

For yourselves and guests staying in the hotel, breakfast is included in your accommodation tariff. External guests are welcome to join you for breakfast on any morning. We offer a full English breakfast in the hotel dining room. Bookings will need to be placed at the reception the night before.

Lunch

‘The Deck’ restaurant and bar is open and serves an a la carte menu from 12h00 – 14h00. Enjoy your meal with a stunning view of the ocean and the calming sound of waves breaking nearby. Indulge in the perfect blend of ambiance, exquisite cuisine, and impeccable service. 

Dinner

The Hotel dining room is renowned for its lavish 4-course dinner. The menu is created dependent on what is in season and we recommend that you dine with us the night before or after your event to savour the experience. Alternatively, ‘The Deck’ restaurant and bar is open and serves an a la carte menu from 17h00 – 20h00 hrs.  We can offer guests platters of Pizza’s from our oven on the outside deck if you prefer something very casual.

Beverages

We provide a fully licensed bar with all liquor for your event, accommodating your budget. You can set a budget, monitor consumption, and choose to top up or switch to a cash bar. We offer a cash bar service alongside bubbly and wine. Corkage is available for your own MCC or Sparkling wine at R50.00 per bottle. Explore our wine list for a custom selection, and note that only our beverages are allowed on the premises due to licensing restrictions.

Wedding Accommodation

The hotel boasts 39 rooms en-suite with all hotel amenities. Please advise if you wish to book rooms for just yourselves, your wedding party or extended family and friends. We will offer favourable rates on group bookings.

With the most startling and breathtaking view along the Eastern Cape, the Milkwood Spa commands the ultimate position. You will be treated to the sights and the sounds of the rugged Wild Coast while you relax and enjoy your time with us. We are proud to stock Vitaderm, a South African based product house, Anesi from Paris, France and Shellac, the latest technology for nail care.

We offer a fantastic range of massage and beauty treatments as well as a sauna and Jacuzzi. End off your amazing experience and enjoy a glass of bubbly from our viewing deck.

event services

We have a surround sound system installed in our ceiling which allows for background music, but does not have a high volume capacity. We can recommend a few local DJs; alternatively you are welcome to bring in your own DJ.

NB: Please ensure that your DJs have extension cords long enough and a microphone for any speeches.

These can be arranged by one of our recommended florists.

All our parking is situated in the front of the hotel and managed by our security personnel. Should you feel that you would like an extra car guard during your event, we will gladly arrange this for you.

The property has some breathtaking locations where you can have your photographs taken on your special day or gathering. A beach setting, to beautiful gardens with Kranses.

We can recommend a few great photographers to capture those moments.

There a several local artisans, who create wedding cakes and cakes for special occasions, please contact them directly from our recommendations below.

If you would like your cake to be served to your guests on the day, please let us know and we will gladly assist in portioning and serving this after the ceremony of the cutting. I also have an antique silver knife that you are most welcome to use.

Babysitters can be arranged to look after the younger generation. There is a TV and DVD player in the upstairs lounge that can be utilized, however this is under supervision. Please note that baby sitters are paid directly by your friends/ guests on the day and or evening, a meal and cool drink is expected in the evenings, this can be ordered at The Deck restaurant and charged to your room or if your guest is not staying at the hotel they may pay cash.
