The southern Wild Coast offers a great variety of desirable species in some spectacular fishing locations. If you need advice about where to fish, and what with, then contact a guide (below) or ask our friendly locals. Deep Sea enthusiasts can launch from the Great Kei river, while fishing and bait collection licenses can be purchased at the Morgan Bay Top Shop. The local shops keep only a limited selection of bait and tackle, so come prepared.
UPDATE (Dec 2022): Fishing licenses appear to hard to come by both locally and in East London. The nearest place we know of that has them is the St. Anthony’s Store. St. Anthony’s are located opposite the Haga Haga turnoff on the main tar road between the N2 and Morgan Bay, 31km from here.
Their opening hours are:
Weekdays: 08:00 – 12:45 and 14:00 – 16:00
Saturdays: 08:00 – 12:00
Between Xmas and New Year: 08:00 – 12:00
Bait is also available upstairs at the SaveMor in Kei Mouth. The SaveMor and Kei Mouth Hadware also sell fishing tackle.
